I know it’s cliche to post about new years resolutions. But stick with me for a second.

This is the first year that I don’t have a laundry list of things to change about myself.

Maybe you think that losing 5 lbs or drinking less booze will make your 2014 completely different than last year, but it won’t. And I’m sure you’ve read a billion articles about why new years resolutions are terrible and end in failure, and what you can do to set smaller, more reasonable and manageable goals.

But I think you should do the exact opposite.

A few years ago I was a mess. I had a job I hated and was stuck in a new place with few friends and absolutely no idea what I wanted to do. I found Danielle LaPorte through a friend and I downloaded her program The Desire Map.

I didn’t even realize it until now (literally, after I started writing this blog post) but that was the first small change that made me start to think bigger, not smaller.

I think most people are ready for radical change and this is a great place to start.

So, I’m in a rush to go find a cute dress for NYE, and can’t stop to write a long blog post, but I would regret not posting about this while many of my friends and readers are looking for a reason and tool to make some amazing changes.

Since that moment of being a disaster my life turned a 360. I am living an amazing life, doing what I love on my own terms, with a phenomenal partner who supports me in a place where I am surrounded by friends. This is fucking incredible.

And this is the tool that was definitely a part of the shift in my ability to see that change was possible. (and inevitable)

Side note for cynics – No. I am not in any way in cahoots with Danielle, or profiting from this. I just think it’s super rad.
