I grew up in Maine, the land of salt of the earth, hardworking people. I lived in a community of farmers and lobsterman. The workday starts at 5 and ends when the sun goes down. When I moved to California I got a six figure job solely based on the fact that I was from Maine and grew up on a potato farm. My work ethic made me a shiny star in Los Angeles, where the typical workday starts around noon, or whenever.
I always took pride in this ability to work hard. And when it came to relationships, I always took pride in my ability to work through any problem, no matter how difficult. I was taught that you can work your way through any issue, life will pay you back with stability, contentment and high quality of life.
